I'm the creator of Dice Hedron. I'm Windsor born and raised and a huge fan of Dungeons & Dragons and the creativity that comes with building characters, campaigns, and worlds. Dice Hedron is my personal project where I share D&D guides, dice recommendations, and beginner resources to help new players get started with their first D&D adventure.
Say Hello logan.da.smith@gmail.comI created Dice Hedron as a one-man show. Built from my love for this creatively complex game. Like many players, I started out trying to understand the world of D&D. Dice, character creation, actions, spell slot and so much more. I quickly realized how overwhelming it can be for beginners, becuase I was that beginner once to. Dice Hedron was created to be a beginner-friendly hub where new players can learn the basics of Dungeons&Dragons, discover useful DnD gear and dice, and find helpful guides that make getting started much easier.
As someone who spends a lot of time playing Dungeons & Dragons, running campaigns, and experimenting with different tabletop RPG strategies, I enjoy sharing what I learn with other players. Whether you're rolling your first polyhedral dice set, building your first DnD character sheet, or preparing to become a Dungeon Master, Dice Hedron is designed to help players explore the world of D&D adventures, storytelling, and tabletop gaming.
This project is built entirely by me, from the design and development of the website to the writing of guides and blog posts about Dungeons & Dragons gameplay, beginner tips, and tabletop RPG gear. My goal is to build a growing resource where both new D&D players and experienced adventurers can find helpful information, explore the community, and enjoy the creativity that makes Dungeons & Dragons such a legendary game.
D&D is a collaborative tabletop game. The best way to start is to find a group of friends (3-5 people) who are also interested and just start playing. The world is your oyster. Though it helps when you have one player with more experience to be your Dungeon Master (DM) .
The Dungeon Master is the official storyteller and orginizer for D&D campaigns. They help guide players along the story to the best of their abilities. It takes a lot of prep-work, patience and creativity to be a DM, as things often derail and it's their job to adapt to any situation.
At it's core D&D is a game of imagination, but the one tool you absolutely need is the dice. Each set comes with seven different sided die (d4, d6, d8,d10, d100, d12, d20), each named after the number of sides they have (d12 = 12 sided dice). The different dice have different purposes depending of the given situation, but the most commonly used one is the d20.
There are many free tools online to help get started on building your first character. There are a lot of rules and niche knowledge to know when building your characters, so make sure to consult your DM or the internet for help if you have any questions.
